New Lip Balms for Summer & Spring!

Pear Blossom Lip Balm

Spring has arrived, along with four new lip balm flavors! Let's meet our new favorites:

In Southern Oregon, the harbinger of Spring is the pear blossom bloom - so we've captured this magical Springtime event in our new Pear Blossom Lip Balm! Sweet and slightly floral, a little Spring for your lips! Enhanced with juicy Organic Pear and Sweet Violet extracts for a delectable, unique lip treat.

Catnip Lip Balm

Our Catnip Lip Balm was inspired by our resident feline and catnip connoisseur - Rydley. Infused with pure Catnip Essential Oil for an herbacious, fresh and minty flavor. This lip balm is enhanced with extracts of stimulating Gunpowder Green Tea and strengthening Gotu Kola. May cause kitty snuggles. Catnip Lip Balm has a much higher rate of cat theft than any other lip balm - do not leave unattended with know thief-cats. If missing, check under the couch or refrigerator.

Rydley approves this message.

Pina Colada Lip Balm

For those of you who have an active countdown to beach days, we've concocted the most delicious Piña Colada Lip Balm you will ever find. Creamy Organic Coconut lip balm spiked with tangy-sweet Pineapple. A Summertime favorite made with organic, true-to-source fruit extracts for deliciously genuine Piña Colada flavor. It's no substitute for a vacation, but it might help you handle the wait.

Banana Bread Lip Balm

And finally, we haven't forgotten our friends in the Southern Hemisphere who are faced with Autumn and Winter. Banana Bread Lip Balm captures the flavor of your favorite comfort food for year-round enjoyment. This creamy lip balm is made with real Organic Banana Extract for a delicious, genuine flavor that no synthetic ingredient can beat! We added just a touch of Organic Walnut Extract for sweet banana bread perfection.

From the Garden: Recycled Box Seedling Pots

We go through a lot of jars at Wild Rose, which means we go through a lot of jar boxes! Jar boxes are typically small with corrugated partitions to protect jars during shipping. These boxes aren't very useful for storage or garden mulch, so we've started using them for seedlings. We save all of our jar boxes through the busy Winter shopping season for our Spring seedlings, leaving the partitions in place to prevent neighboring seedlings from intertwining their roots.

The boxes degrade quickly, so we simply start our seeds in them before potting up. The seedling above are tomatoes that are just about ready to be transplanted to larger pots. The spent seedling boxes are then composted with the rest of our household/workshop plant waste.

Wild Rose's Third Anniversary!

This month marks Wild Rose's third year in business! This year has brought us stability as we set our roots deep in our new home. We moved into our newly-renovated shop last fall and are excited to grow even more botanicals for Wild Rose in our permaculture gardens this year. We've added tons of new products including mineral-rich facial masks and botanical lip balms, plus we expanded our selection of herbal lip tints and improved our Ink Spray Tattoo Aftercare!

We've passed many milestones by doubling our Etsy sales and launching a redesigned site, allowing us to exponentially increase our charitable donations. This year we donated to Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center, Wildlife Images, NEST, Blue Mountains Biodiversity Project, Black Mesa Indigenous Support and Units'ot'en Camp. Your purchase directly supports the vital work of these amazing groups!

We're overwhelmed with gratitude for our amazing customers who support our small business. We look forward to another year of ethically handcrafting your favorite products!

Product Spotlight: Gingermint Muscle Rub

Gingermint Muscle Rub

When I started making herbals salves and balms back in 2006, a Cayenne-based muscle rub was one of my first creations. While several ingredients have ultimately changed to improve consistency and effectiveness, the herbal backbone of Gingermint Muscle Rub has remained: Cayenne, Burdock and Gingko.

Cayenne is one of nature's most effective circulatory stimulants, making it a staple for an invigorating muscle rub. Any hot-sauce lover knows that the burn of Cayenne gets the blood pumping. When applied to sore muscles and joints, this means quick relief for stiffness and inflammation that you can feel.

While Cayenne has an immediately noticeable affect, Burdock works deep within the body to purify the blood and stimulate lymphatic movement. Combining these two herbs creates lasting relief.

Cayenne and Burdock are enhanced by Gingko Biloba, an antioxidant-rich leaf that improves circulation in the skin specifically. This helps increase this balm's range of effectiveness while gently decreasing inflammation. Interestingly, Gingko is the oldest living species on earth. The leaf contains unique compounds not found in any other plant. Surely we have much to gain by incorporating this ancient herb into our routines.

These herbs are steeped in highly absorbent Organic Coconut Oil for a smooth balm with a non-greasy feel. We use a bit of Pacific Northwest Beeswax for a stiffer consistency, and a dab of Organic Rosehip Seed Oil to nourish the skin. Just before pouring, this balm's signature ingredients are added: Cooling Oregon-Grown Peppermint and invigorating Ginger Root essential oils. Gingermint's aroma is spicy, cool and subtly sweet. Sure to please those looking for a strong, naturally aromatic muscle rub!

New & Improved Ink Spray Tattoo Aftercare Available Now

Ink Spray Tattoo Aftercare

Our Ink Spray Tattoo Aftercare has been one of our most popular items - and we've just made it better! Ink Spray now has more precious essential oils and better astringent properties thanks to a higher quality Witch Hazel Extract.

This simple spray relieves discomfort associated with healing tattoos and other skin abrasions. A gentle astringent base of organic Witch Hazel and Calendula Extract tighten pores to reduce bleeding and ink loss. Essential Oils of Lavender, Peppermint, Helichrysum and German Chamomile soothe tender, itchy skin and promote healing.

For fresh tattoos, wash gently with a mild antibacterial soap 2-5 times per day. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Lightly apply Ink Spray and allow to air dry.
Ink Spray can be used alone for dry healing or in combination with our Ink Balm.

We recommend applying Ink Spray prior to applying Ink Balm. Ink Spray can also be used in between washings to relieve discomfort and itching.

Alternatively, apply only Ink Spray after washing for the first 2-3 days of healing, or until the skin is dry and tight. Then begin applying Ink Balm after applying Ink Spray to hydrate skin and prevent cracking. Continue until your tattoo is fully healed.

Wild Rose's products are designed to be extremely versatile to work with any aftercare regimen. Always follow your artist's aftercare instructions.

Aftercare will vary depending on your skin type, size and location of tattoo. These instructions do not replace the advice of a medical professional.

We offer our tattoo aftercare at wholesale prices for tattoo artists and shops. Find a shop carrying Wild Rose products near you. If you are interested in offering our tattoo aftercare to your clients, contact us for a wholesale application.
